Recipe FAQs

What cream do you use in homemade Oreos?

You can use store-bought vanilla or cream cheese frosting, but I prefer and love an easy homemade cream cheese frosting made of butter, cream cheese, vanilla, and powdered sugar. It’s the best!

How do you store homemade Oreos?

Once your homemade Oreos are cooled and iced, store extra in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 5 days. You can also freeze them for up to 2 to 3 months.

How long do homemade Oreo cookies bake?

Bake your cookie dough for 7 to 8 minutes at 350 degrees. The cookies have a pretty short baking time because you want them to be very soft. Allowing them to sit on the pan out of the oven allows them to cook a bit more from the heat of the pan without getting crispy from the heat of the oven.
