Recipe FAQs
Should I add water to crock pot pork tenderloin?
Nope, there’s no need to add any liquid to your crock pot when making this recipe. The butter will melt and the pork will produce its own juices, so there will be plenty of moisture in the crockpot. The butter will also help lock moisture in the tenderloin, keeping it nice and juicy.
Can I cook frozen pork tenderloin in the crock pot?
You can, but not for this recipe. As the butter melts, the flavor from the herbs and garlic get infused into it. A frozen pork tenderloin won’t accept the flavor the same as a thawed one. For this recipe you should use fresh or thawed pork.

Expert Tips and Tricks
- Have someextra potatoeslying around?Throw them in with the porkfor an even heartyslow cooker dinner.
- Mix up the fresh herbs you add to the potatoes based on what’s growing in your garden and what you like.Fresh dill and chives are also delicious.
- The juice that is left in the bottom of the slow cooker is delicious.Strain it and serve it “au jus” style, or add it to a sauce pan to make a gravy. Just add 3 tablespoons cold water and 1 tablespoon corn starch to a small bowl and whisk together to make a slurry. Bring the juice to a simmer and add the cornstarch slurry and stir until thickened, making a simple gravy for the pork.
- Aninstant-read thermometerwill change your meat-cooking game.I highly recommend getting one. Lots of slow cookers also come with a cooking probe that will alert you when a predetermined temperature is reached.Either will work well for this recipe. For juicy, perfectly-cooked pork, 145°F is the magic number.
